Dear Foscoe-Grandfather Community,

Foscoe-Grandfather Community Center is a private non-profit community center & park. Hurricane Helene caused damage to our grounds but thankfully out 3,500 sq ft building was not damaged. Due to restoration taking place on the grounds, we are not allowing events or bookings of the facilities until around June-July of 2025.

Our regular Summer-Fall community breakfast schedule will resume in June.

If you have the means, please consider a donation to the park operating fund to help us. The damage to the grounds and parking lot pavement is expected to cost at least $25,000.

Mission | About

Foscoe Community Center is a multi-use facility located in Banner Elk, NC with a beautiful backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, including Grandfather Mountain. Established in 1990 by John Weathers, his purpose was clear – he wanted a place for the children to play and learn. With the help of the community, that purpose came to life and has flourished ever since. With 3,500 square feet of adaptable space in the community center, we operate as a hub for the Foscoe-Grandfather Community.

Public events at our center have included community breakfasts, history dinners, music events, community council meetings, club & non-profit meeting space, health screenings, and more. More recently our community center assisted in the relief efforts after Hurricane Helene.

We're located in the heart of the High Country, between Boone and Banner Elk, just a short drive from all the favorite attractions. No matter the time of year, the natural beauty that abounds is sure to impress your guests.
